The gig in Township Nyanga’s Arts Centre was our last performance on our Africa tour, but a very sweet one! In the evening we meet all the people from Pro Helvetia Cape Town for dinner.
The next day we drive down to Cape of Good Hope which is one of the most impessing things you can see. At the Cape the cold Atlantic Ocean and the warm Indian Ocean meet. You can’t see that really but feel it.. Back in Cape Town we take the cable car up to Table Mountain to watch the sunset. Pictures!!
Last day in Cape Town: We visit some record shops to promote our album and meet people: Damian from Pioneer Unit Records (Rattex’ label), E.J and Collin Miller from Pro Helvetia to talk about future plans.
Especially we wanna thank our Tourmanager Tracy September, great job you did!!!
OK, folks that’s it from Mablog. Read ya next time when Filewile is around the world.
Watch out for our Switzerland concert in january!

Thanks again to everybody for a fabulous time in Joburg, even Swiss Cultural Attaché Eric Amhof had a great time dancing at our gig!
Next day 500km road trip on the road to Moçambique, I shoot about 100 pictures from the impressing landscapes. Maputo is very different from Joburg: Mo Africa (means slower!) but portugueaish.. Meeting with Letho, organizer of our show at the CCFM (Centro Cultural Franco-Moçambicano) and Swiss Cultural Attaché Joël Guélat. The gig at CCFM we play outside in the park under open sky which was a nice surprise! After the concert we prepare ourselfs to catch the plane at 7am from Maputo back to Cape Town.
Friday: Our Gig in Cape Town at the Assembly was early because we were the first of 5 Acts. But for those 150 people who were already there (a lot of musicans) Filewile was a very fresh surprise. Once again many people talk to us after the show and want to know many details about how we work.
Visiting Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in a cell cube of 2 x 2 x 2 m!
Next day we perform at All Nations where we are hosted by Fong Kong Bantu Sound System. We rehearse 3 songs with collab guest Rattex whos lyrics are performed in isiXhosa, English and Cape Flats slang. The show is again wonderful and also all the people from Pro Helvetia are there: Jasper, Nadine, Collin and Eitann. Thanks guys!k
Sunday afternoon we perform in Township Nyanga’s Arts Centre. We play something like a children’s show, again with Rattex. After the gig local organiser and rastafari Wakhile shows us his tiny little studio where even Mad Professor and Linton Kwesi Johnson were recording!!! Jah Maan..
We just arrived in Capetown and we received the great news that we entered the Top 100 Airplaycharts in Switzerland today!!!!
Some Pics from Joburg and Maputo. More to come about the Mozambique trip soon. Mago needs some rest now. So no new story today, sorry! Looking forward to play The Assembley tonight!

Sunday afternoon we play a small but lovely gig at the Munk Store in Melville (thanks Dylan!) next to where we live. Some of the very nice people from the night before came to see Filewile again like the promoter of the party the night before Domimique aka DJ D-Uneek and the hostess with the mostest, Masello, Breece, Garfield, Zipo, Zamo, Franny… THANK YOU FRIENDS!!
Monday: sightseeing Joburg and on the way to Soweto we pass by the new main stadium for the football worldcup 2010. Soweto (South West Township) was home of Mandela as well as Bishopf Tutu and was the center point of the fight against Apartheit. Both got the Peace Nobel Price and lived in the same street.
On Tuesday lovely 500km road trip to Maputo-Mosambik, the boarder is very fun…
